Omelette with Chives

The next side dish for nasi uduk that I am introducing is omelette with chives. This is a must to add to your rice because it is really easy and fast to make – plus, you probably already have all the ingredients in your fridge!

Even though I prefer using chives with my omelette, you can mix up other ingredients too, like spring onion or parsley. Cooking is most enjoyable when you follow your instict more than a recipe, so if you want to put, say, strawberries in your omelette, then go ahead! (Tell me if you’re really doing it because I do want to know how it turns out).

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

Serves 5 (with nasi uduk + other side dishes)

The ingredients you need to make omelette with chives:

2 eggs

Around 2 tbps chives

2 shallots

1 tbsp milk

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp cooking oil

Steps to make omelette with chives:

  1. Beat your eggs and add in sliced shallots and chives. Mix well.
  2. Add in milk to add extra fluffiness. Season the eggs with salt and pepper.
  3. Fry the eggs in a bit of oil. You can use any technique you like, and when it’s cooked put it on a plate and cut it up with a scissor to make eating it easier.
